Filming for Elisa’s new original series “Perekool” has begun. This humorous and down-to-earth series follows the everyday lives of three women – Katrin, Evelin, and Helena – as mothers, bringing to the screen situations familiar to many parents. The main roles are played by Laura Võigemast, Adeele Jaago, and Liis Remmel.
At the center of “Perekool” are three friends. Katrin, played by Laura Võigemast, becomes a stepmother to two children overnight, while also hosting the video podcast “Perekool.” Together with Evelin, played by Adeele Jaago, and Helena, played by Liis Remmel, they openly discuss the joys and challenges of motherhood, raising children, and family life.
According to the series’ executive producer Merli Kutsar, “Perekool” talks about motherhood without excessive embellishment or preaching. “As a parent, you may be very sure of how to act in a given situation – until that situation actually happens in your own home. The three main characters of ‘Perekool’ are very different women, each with their own understanding of family life and motherhood. Their differences give rise to a lot of humor, but also recognition. We want to show family life as it really is – sometimes chaotic, funny, and very heartfelt,” said Kutsar.
According to Elisa’s content manager Toomas Ili, Elisa’s goal is to offer viewers the best domestic original content that is simultaneously high-quality, entertaining, and relatable. “We are constantly developing stories with a clear identity that resonate with Estonian viewers. ‘Perekool’ fits this very well – it deals with topics and situations that many recognize from their daily lives, but does so with light humor and through the perspectives of three very different women. ‘Perekool’ is a series the whole family can relate to and enjoy, with plenty of moments of recognition,” said Ili.
In each episode, the three women find themselves in different situations connected by a common theme, ask each other for advice, and try to find solutions. Their own experiences then become topics for the podcast, where it often turns out that theory and real life do not always go hand in hand.
The main roles in the series are played by Laura Võigemast, Adeele Jaago, and Liis Remmel. The executive producer is Merli Kutsar and the director is Ergo Kuld. The screenwriters are Katariina Libe, Reeli Reinaus, and development consultant Tiina Lokk – the first season of their previous creation, “Täiusliku sõbranna,” won the EFTA award for best screenplay. Filming for Elisa’s original series “Perekool” has begun, and the series will reach viewers in the upcoming autumn season.
