The king and the queen’s long expected child is born and they decide to hold a feast. However a problem occurs. There are thirteen wise women in the land and they have only twelve golden plates. The thirteenth wise women gets furious because she is not invited and she curses the little girl. “The King’s daughter shall in her fifteenth year prick herself with a spindle, and fall down dead”. The devasted father has all the spindles in the kingdom burned. All but one. The fifteenth year comes and you may already know what follows – the girl pricks herself.
