Boost Juice juice bars

<span lang="EN-GB">
are probably well-known providers of fresh juices and smoothies for fans of healthy food.

<span lang="FI">
This beloved franchise from Australia now has nearly a thousand bars worldwide, 12 of which are in Estonia. Boost is essentially fast food, but unlike all sorts of burger giants and other fast food chains, Boost aims to offer healthy and tasty food quickly.

The person who brought the Boost brand to Estonia and its owner, former top swimmer and entrepreneur Indrek Sei, says that he was attracted to Boost by both the core concept and the international business model: “Both the smoothie business and the franchise business are still quite rare in Estonia – these two things make this venture an exciting challenge.”

How to offer truly healthy fast food in a cup
</span>
</h2>
<p>
<span lang="FI">
Boost’s central idea is “food in a cup”, meaning that a smoothie is offered as a healthy and nutritious snack or meal, as fresh as possible. Boost smoothies contain no added sugars and a lot of attention is paid to the balance of nutrients.
</span>
</p>
<p>
</p>
<p>
<span lang="FI">
Indrek says that smoothies are often confused with milkshakes: “While the latter is essentially a dessert, a smoothie is made from fresh ingredients after the order is placed – it can’t get any fresher.
</span>
</p>
<p>
</p>
<p>
<span lang="FI">
The global brand’s recipes are developed by 10–20 people, including top chefs, biochemists, and other specialists, to create products that are truly both tasty and healthy. This can be considered the key to the chain’s success, because according to Indrek, it is actually very difficult to create a good product by trial and error – the taste, consistency, texture, etc. of a commercial product must be basically perfect.

The franchise provides a complete solution for entering the catering business
</span>
</h2>
<p>
<span lang="FI">
Indrek admits that the catering business is very complicated: “A very nice and smart person once said that if you want to burn money, the easiest way is to use a match. Before starting with Boost, I didn’t know anything about food technology, biochemistry, or anything else. But if you really like the catering business, a franchise gives you the opportunity to buy a business model that someone else has already thought out and built.”
</span>
</p>
<p>
</p>
<p>
<span lang="FI">
Indrek is also the distributor of the Boost franchise in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Finland. According to him, the franchise offers a great opportunity to try your hand at the catering business, especially for locals, because a local always does better what the specific market and local customer expects.
</span>
</p>
<p>
</p>
<p>
<span lang="FI">
Boost bars have now been operating in Estonia for 18 years, and Indrek admits that there’s no need to strike a match. Still, it can’t be denied that there’s never a dull moment in the catering business: “We really have a great success story, but we’re just as much market participants as everyone else. In the 2008 crisis, we were hit hard, then came Covid, the energy crisis, and war.
</span>
<span lang="EN-GB">
Now there have basically been 10 quarters of decline in retail – and it’s not over yet.
</span>
<span lang="FI">
All this affects us very strongly.”

<span lang="FI">
The cheapest offer is not necessarily the best
</span>
</h2>
<p>
<span lang="FI">
Boost’s Estonian bars and office moved their communication services to the Elisa network a year and a half ago and are still very satisfied with this decision. Indrek says that the reason for changing service providers was that, on foreign trips, his travel companions repeatedly had better coverage and service in the Elisa network.
</span>
</p>
<p>
</p>
<p>
<span lang="FI">
Indrek says that by nature, they are a company that cannot afford any pointless waste or unjustified expenses – especially considering the current state of retail. “We don’t always chase the cheapest offer. In our business, we’ve seen that the lowest price alone often doesn’t help the business move forward but instead creates problems. There must be a balance between price and quality, and in our opinion, Elisa has the best ratio on the market,” says Indrek.
</span>
</p>
<h2>
<span lang="FI">
It’s worth choosing a strategic communications partner with a long-term perspective
</span>
</h2>
<p>
<span lang="FI">
The transition was preceded by a long consideration period, because according to Indrek, such decisions cannot be made on the fly: “Such support services are strategically extremely important. But for us to be able to focus on what we do, we need good partners in every field. The combo that Elisa can offer us suits us perfectly.”
</span>
</p>
<p>
</p>
<p>
<span lang="FI">
Indrek praises Elisa for its simple administration and customer relations: “Elisa really made the transition quick and smooth for us. Their specialists also recommended which mobile packages to take, what fixed connection speeds are needed for the cash register systems and cameras, etc. Really cool stuff! Overall, our business relationship is very good on a human level – after all, business is always between people.”
</span>
</p>
<p>
</p>
<p>
<span lang="FI">
When choosing service partners, Indrek tries to look at things from a long-term perspective and foresee the potential of working with one company or another – because if problems arise, it’s already too late. “Elisa is definitely a respectable partner and a strong competitor to everyone participating in this market,” he concludes.
